DOT Medical Certificates

In order to obtain a MA Hoisting License, you must possess a DOT Medical Certificate. DOT is an acronym for Department of Transportation, and you obtain this medical certificate by performing a simple physical.

-About The Physical-

A DOT Physical is a simple physical where they check basics such as your pulse, blood pressure, eyes, hearing, etc. There is a urine test which is not a drug test, but checking for diabetes. You can be diabetic, they just need to know you have it under control. With a hoisting license, you are operating heavy machinery capable of doing a lot of damage, so it's important to know you are in good health.

-How to Obtain a DOT Medical Certificate-

When you attend one of our classes, we offer the DOT Physicals during the class. This is solely for your convenience; Mass Hoisting does not see any compensation from the physician. If you would like to obtain one on your own, a simple online search will yield you several options within your area.

-The Cost-

The physicians at our class charge $100 per physical. This is on the cheaper end as many physicians will charge $150 - $200. Phsyicians at our class will accept any form of payment, and you will leave with your certificate that day.

-How long is a DOT good for?-

Generally, a DOT Medical Certificate is good for two years. Based on your health, this could be a shorter period of time. When the time comes to renew your hoisting license, we offer continuing education through our sister-company, At Leisure Contractor Licensing. As an At Leisure customer, you will be offered rock bottom pricing of $85 for physicals through our network of physicians across the state.
