Currently, some of our online exam prep courses are offered as video courses. A pre-recorded, live instructor, will guide you through the varying topics that will appear on the exam. Our comprehensive curriculums are constantly being updated as new exam questions begin to appear. The instructor will even take it as far as to say "this will be an exam question".

Other online courses we offer are provided in slideshow format. Like the video courses, you are able to start/stop as you wish, and review the material multiple times. The courses are highlighted to emphasize the area's of importance where information is used to create questions on the exam. Throughout these courses are practice quizzes and a final exam.

-Electronic Application Submission-
Navigating the state website is VERY difficult; so we did something about it. You may select to have us submit your hoisting application on your behalf through our easy-to-use electronic application service. Your application will be reviewed by us twice to help avoid any mistakes that could lead to your application being denied. No scanner needed! You can simply use the camera on your smartphone to upload your Driver's License and DOT images. This service is offered for a $5 processing fee.
-Discounted DOT Medical Certificates-
Now you can acquire your DOT Medical Certificate at the rock bottom price of $85 when you sign up for our online hoisting courses. Choose from several locations across the state, and schedule your appointment right on our site. You may cancel/reschedule your appointment if necessary.
-No Pass, No Pay-
Over 98% of our students pass the Mass hoisting licensing test the first time. In the event you do not pass your exam the first time, we will extend your course free of charge. If for some reason you don't pass after the second time, we will happily refund your course fee.
-Refund Policy-
If you decide the online course is not the right option for you, we will provide you a full refund as long as you have not completed over 50% of the course.
M.G.L. c. 146 § 53 states that anyone who will operate derricks, cableways, machinery used for discharging cargoes, and temporary elevator cars used on excavation work or used for hoisting building material, when the motive power to operate such machinery is mechanical and other than steam, including but not limited to excavators, backhoes, front end loaders, uniloaders, skid loader, skid steer loaders, compact loaders or similar devices, lattice cranes, derricks, cranes with or without wire rope; all fork lifts, powered industrial lift trucks, overhead hoists (underhung), overhead cranes, underhung cranes, monorail cranes, lifting devices, cableways, and powered platforms, or any other equipment that has the minimum capability of hoisting the load higher than 10 feet, and either the capability of lifting loads greater than 500 pounds or the capacity of the bucket exceeds 1/4 cubic yards must hold a license from the Department. See 520 CMR 6.01.

Yes. Provided that rental entity has an approved a short-term rental program, the hoisting machinery regulations allow individuals renting compact hoisting machinery to obtain a temporary permit from the short-term rental entity for a fourteen (14) consecutive day rental period upon completion of the entity’s training program. See 520 CMR 6.03.
No. M.G.L. c. 146, § 53 provides an exemption for hoisting machinery used exclusively for agricultural purposes.
